LinkedIn Local Oyo holds Networking Event in UI

LinkedIn Local Oyo, a community initiative aimed at bringing the essence of LinkedIn offline to the people of Oyo State, organized the LinkedIn Local Oyo 2.0 event at the First Bank building, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ibadan. This event took place on September 16, 2023, with the theme "Ignite: Unleashing Creative Brilliance for Innovation."
The organizer, Oluwafemi John Jegede, emphasized the core objective of LinkedIn Local, stating, "It provides a platform for individuals to connect with accomplished professionals, those who have achieved significant milestones, or have garnered years of experience on LinkedIn. It's an opportunity to learn how they have thrived on this platform."
Regarding the theme, Jegede explained, "The aim of 'Ignite' was to ignite the spark of creativity in those who might be hesitant, unsure of how to begin, or who might think they have no reason to start."
He also emphasized the inclusive nature of LinkedIn Local, saying, "LinkedIn Local welcomes everyone, whether you are building a professional career or are dedicated to promoting yourself, be it as a brand manager or a tech enthusiast – LinkedIn Local caters to all."
The event featured panel discussions, keynote speeches, networking opportunities, and enjoyable games. Distinguished speakers included Vivian Claire, Danny Maine, Taiwo Idris, Victor Fatanmi, Sheila Moor, David Iyenrochi Obi, Seun Odegbami, Dr. Olusola Ayoola, and Kachi Kalu. They covered a wide array of topics, spanning personal brand development, technology, entrepreneurship, marketing, and community building.
Reflecting on the event, Mariam Tijani, a volunteer, expressed, "I was genuinely impressed with the event's organization, the calib of speakers they brought in, and the spacious venue that facilitated effective networking."
Another attendee, Opeyemi, shared, "I had a fantastic time at LinkedIn Oyo; thank you for this experience."
