IT'S FATSSSA ELECTIONS O'CLOCK!! MEET MR OLABODE THOMAS ASPIRANT FOR THE OFFICE OF THE FIN SECRETARY

Welcome to our interview with Bode Thomas,
an aspirant for the post of Financial Secretary during this exciting election
season in the faculty.
As students engage in campaigns and
discussions, it is an opportune time to explore the perspectives of candidate
seeking to hold the crucial position of financial secretary.
In this interview, we aim to delve into
Bode Thomas's aspirations, qualifications, and vision to effectively manage the
financial affairs of our faculty.
Through an unbiased lens, we will discuss
his potential strategies for fostering financial transparency and
accountability within our academic community.

PRESS: Thank you for agreeing to meet with me.
First, can you please introduce yourself?
Mr.
Bode: I am Matthew Olabode Thomas A.K.A Bodé
Thomas. I am from Lagos State, Nigeria.
I am a 300L student of the prestigious
Department of Geography Faculty of The Social Sciences, University of Ibadan.

PRESS: What are your goals, beliefs in life, source
of motivation — basically, how would you describe yourself?
Mr.
Bode: My Goal in Life is to be the best version of
myself I can be. I wish to be the best at whatever I am involved in, be it
spiritual, academic, social, relationships, etc.
I wish to be extremely successful and
happy.
When it comes to beliefs, Spiritual I am a
Christian and place all my trust and faith in Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour.
Socially, I believe everyone has something
to offer, and it is extremely important to make a positive and productive impact
or contribution to any society you are involved with.
I am motivated by God who has given me all
I need to be the best version of myself and I keep working because he never
lets me down.
I will describe myself as a confident,
open-minded, innovative, and strong-willed man.

PRESS: Why exactly are you interested in running
for the office of Financial Secretary?
Mr.
Bode: I have served the faculty previously as The
Chairman of the Sponsorship and Strategic Partnership Committee. At that time,
it was an office under the Financial Secretary.
As a result of this, I worked hand in hand
with the Financial Secretary during that administration which enabled me gain
experience and knowledge on how the office should operate and how its duties
can be carried out in a better way.
I believe in contributing positively to any
society you are involved in, I believe when it comes to FATSSSA this is where I
will have the best impact.

PRESS: You ran for the post of Social Director for
the Nigerian Universities Geography Students Associan UI (NUGSA) last session.
Why aren't you going for the same role in FATSSSA? Social Director and Financial
Secretary are worlds apart.
Mr.
Bode: Yes, I did.
I have served the faculty previously as The

it was an office under the Financial Secretary.
I worked hand in hand with the Financial
Secretary during that administration which enabled be gain experience and
knowledge on how the office should operate and how it's duties can be carried
out in a better way.
I mentioned how i believe in contributing
positively to any society you are involved in, I believe when it comes to
FATSSSA this is where I will have the best impact.

PRESS: Apart from that, what
qualifications/experience do you bring to the role of financial secretary?
Mr.
Bode: I run my own business, so i know the
importance of keeping a detailed and accurate record of financial activity.
I am very comfortable using technology and
its softwares to carry out tasks, e.g Excel, PowerPoint, Sheets, etc.

PRESS: Earlier, you said you learnt how the duties
of the office of the Financial Secretary could be carried out "in a better
way". In your opinion, what would you do differently in the running of the
office of the Financial Secretary if you were elected?
Mr.
Bode: Technology, making use of technology to
provide easier ways for FATSSSA to carry out her financial activities; from the
Executive Council to her members.

PRESS: Do you have a theme for your campaign?
Mr.
Bode: Yes, I do. FORT KNOX.
FATSSSA
PRESS: What does it stand for?
Mr.
Bode: If a building or an area is like Fort Knox,
it is impossible to enter or leave it because it is so well protected.
This completely represents what I look to
achieve. The Association will be well protected from a financial front.
