A member of FATSSSA press emerges the new UCJ-UI Financial secretary.

 

A member of FATSSSA press; Victoria Oluwabukunmi Saanu, emerges as the new UCJ-UI Financial secretary.

Victoria Saanu has emerged the new Financial Secretary of the Union of Campus Journalists University of Ibadan, in her recently concluded elections. she is a student of Political Science 200L and a member of Political Science Press as well as FATSSSA Press.

The union of campus Journalists ( UCJUI) is the moderating board responsible for all local press organisations within the University of Ibadan. The union is structured after the Nigerian union of journalists (NUJ). UCJUI is administratively divided into the -

·         The secretariat 

·         The senate 

·         Editorial 

The secretariat which is otherwise called the “ the Executive council” is responsible for the day to day running of the Union. It is a laudable feat to see a member of the FATSSSA press take over the post of financial secretary of the organisation. 

Victoria joined the union this year and amazingly she has risen and proved herself worthy to hold a post within the Union. 

After securing the position as the financial secretary, a reporter of FATSSSA PRESS interviewed her, and below is the content. 

 

·         Reporter- can I know your full name? 

·         Victoria - my name is Victoria Ssanu Oluwabukunmi

·         Reporter - what is your LPO 

·         Victoria- political science press 

·         When did you join UCJUI? 

·         Victoria- I joined UCJUI in September 2021

·         Reporter - what inspired you to contest for the post of Financial Secretary? 

·         Victoria- I was inspired by the current editor in chief of political science press Mr oyekanmi Abiodun who also doubles as the UCJUI General Secretary and I was also encouraged by Oladosu Ibrahim the current POSSPRES editor, features desk and UCJUI political desk editor. They both said they believe I have what it takes and this inspired me to contest for the post because I believe I have what it takes to handle the Union finances professionally

THE FATSSSA WEEK EVENTS THROUGH THE EYES OF A NERDY FATSSSAITE

However, there had been loud hiccups with the crispy picnic, so many might have been hesitant to show up at the FATSSSA Week events. In preparation for the opening day of the events, the Large Lecture Theatre had been decorated. A large purple banner bearing the name of the faculty, with beautiful splashes of white and orange, was glued to the wall. The week started with an incredible intellectual programme - ‘Dean For  A Day’ and ‘FATSSSAites who inspire us’. I was determined to attend the programme as it was a new trend and I was curious to see how it would turn out. My mouth went agape as I saw FATSSSAites rush to the event.
