FEMINISM AND SUBMISSION IN MARRIAGE.

 Can a feminist be submissive to her husband?


Many people don't understand the meaning of feminism ..well that's because many ladies

have abused the idea behind feminism. Also many people don't understand submission. They

think submission is when your husband asks you to wash plates and you do so. No! That's wrong.


The idea behind feminism is that women have a voice too in the society, they deserve to be

pampered, cared for, and not treated like animals like men used to treat women those days. Does that

mean I have said women are equal to men? No! Women can never be equal to men because

the bible says the man is the head, so we can't have two heads in a house, neither can we have

two drivers in a car. But because women are not equal to men doesn't mean they deserve

to be treated anyhow. Instead as a driver (the head), you have to listen to your front seat

passager (a woman) because she can give you good directions, tell what is ahead of you and so on.


Feminism is a voice, an act and a stand up call to treat women right, with no intention to abuse

or disregard the male gender.

What then is submission?

Submission doesn't only involve massaging your husband well or working extensively. It's part of it

but true submission is when a woman has the full capacity to do something and she doesn't do

it because her husband says so.

For example, a woman has gotten a Visa to Canada with her friends for business purposes, she tells her

husband and her husband refuses with tangible reasons (emphasis on tangible) like, their

daughter is sickle cell anemic and her health has been acting up lately and there's a need for her to be present to take proper care of their child. If the woman obeys, she is

submissive, she's willing to sacrifice for what matters the most. Submission is love. Submission

is respect for the head. Submission is sacrifice.


Furthermore, adhering to your husband's blind instructions because you want to be submissive isn't

submission. It is stupidity. For example, your husband tells you to join him in a bank robbery, you agreed

because you want to be submissive? Know the

difference!


That a lady is a feminist doesn't mean she can't be submissive!

THE FATSSSA WEEK EVENTS THROUGH THE EYES OF A NERDY FATSSSAITE

However, there had been loud hiccups with the crispy picnic, so many might have been hesitant to show up at the FATSSSA Week events. In preparation for the opening day of the events, the Large Lecture Theatre had been decorated. A large purple banner bearing the name of the faculty, with beautiful splashes of white and orange, was glued to the wall. The week started with an incredible intellectual programme - ‘Dean For  A Day’ and ‘FATSSSAites who inspire us’. I was determined to attend the programme as it was a new trend and I was curious to see how it would turn out. My mouth went agape as I saw FATSSSAites rush to the event.
