pays the said amount back on the grounds that the funds were misappropriated

FATSSSA PRESS: Mr Treasurer, Fatsssa House of representatives threatened to suspend you. Are you aware of that?
David Adekunle: Yes, I am
FATSSSA PRESS: The information we have reveals that you have been accused of misappropriating funds belonging to the association totalling over fifty thousand naira while you served in the previous administration.
FATSSSA PRESS: How true is this?
David Adekunle : To all information provided, there must be tangible evidences. This allegation is purely false.
FATSSSA PRESS: Okay. But the house in its release of its 4th legislative sitting has implored you to refund the sum of #53,430 before its next sitting or face suspension.
FATSSSA PRESS: Are you aware?
David Adekunle: I am very much aware of that.
FATSSSA PRESS: Can you tell us why you have been asked to refund that sum?
David Adekunle: After assuming office as the Treasurer of FATSSSA during 2016/17 administration, I was solely responsible for disbursement and retrieval of money from FATSSSA officer upon instruction by the FHR since the account had been frozen. After the administration, I had the sum of #53,430 left with me and no instruction was given to me to pay it into any account or hand it over to anyone. The only instruction given as regards the money was by current house for me to refund FATSSSA of my excess budget of which I never submitted a budget to the house.
FATSSSA PRESS: Who are you referring to as the FATSSSA officer?
David Adekunle : IFEC commissioners, FATSSSA Financial Secretary, Audit committee and some others. As disbursements were made, some were retrieved like a FATSSSAite that refunded the N30,000 he borrowed from the administration to pay his school fees. All were in accordance to the instruction of the FHR under the distinguished leadership of Hon. Basil
FATSSSA PRESS:And are you saying Fatsssa account had been frozen prior to your assumption of the position of the Treasurer?
David Adekunle: Yes
FATSSSA PRESS:And that you served in the previous administration without a budget?
David Adekunle: Yes
FATSSSA PRESS:Who were you expecting the instruction to pay back the association money to come from?
David Adekunle: FHR as she has always done but the instruction was meant to be for me to release the money in my custody to FATSSSA account after auditing has been done instead of that, I got an humiliating instruction from the FHR in a new dispensation under the amiable leadership of Rt. Hon. Azeezat to pay excess money approved for me whereas I had only been serving a bank account function without spending a dime for my office
FATSSSA PRESS: So you're saying that, aside the fact that you never served with a budget, money was never approved for your office to run with?
David Adekunle : Yes
FATSSSA PRESS: Was the 'humiliating instruction' sent as a letter, if so, can you send the soft copy(probably snapped copy)?
FATSSSA PRESS: Mr treasurer, we got the information that you have remitted the said excess fund from last administration. Aside that, you have been accused of being unable to account for #10,500 handed over to you by the secretary of the audit committee. What do you know about this?
David Adekunle: I have explained to the FHR that it has been disbursed alongside other cash at hand to take care of some approved budgets of the house
