FATSSSA FINSEC FINALLY PROVIDES STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT
Olapanran Onala
The Fatsssa Financial Secretary on Friday 5th of May 2017 made provision of the statement of account after much delay during the sitting of the Faculty House of Representatives. This was not after he tendered an apology to Honourables for the delay. The statement provided by Adefowope Abiodun revealed a total balance of *One million eight hundred and forty one thousand, eight hundred and ninety five naira, seventy eight kobo (1,841,895.78)* only.
To the disappointed of many however, the Financial Secretary, Abiodun Adefowope was unable to provide a figure of the number of students who had paid their dues.
Also, a major amount of money was not reflected in the account and the money in question is the amount that was refunded by the individual who was contracted to produce Fatsssa shirts last year. It was revealed by the Financial Secretary that the President, Ogelekeme Jones was the only person who had access to the money in question. This has raised questions as to why the President was assuming the responsibility of the Financial Secretary by putting the money solely under his watch, more so, operating it privately. Attempt by to get the President's side of the story before Press time proved abortive. More details would be communicated as the story develops.
Meanwhile the FHR has inaugurated one Aquah Christian as a co-opted honourable member of the House. Mr Aquah who happens to be a Transfer student from the Faculty of Science took the oath of office after a vote was cast by honourable in favour of his inauguration. He is currently a 200l student of the department of Sociology.
